The majority of our tours take place within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest by special use permit from the U.S.F.S. The Gifford Pinchot straddles the crest of the rugged Cascade Mountain Range and west including wilderness areas, amazing river valleys, incredible volcanic peaks, cave systems, dense forests and a biome which includes many large game species, small game and predators along with the most magnificent trees in the Pacific Northwest. The Gifford Pinchot has a very high number of Bigfoot sightings annually and is prime habitat to experience an encounter while searching for these creatures. These tours are operated with permission from the United States Forest Service under special use permit.

You will be flying into Portland, OR, and driving 1.5 hours to the site, stay at Lone Fir Lodge
Lone Fir Resort
We will be staying in a lodge here. You are responsible for your own accommodations, but this is where we recommend. There are several options, so please take a look.
Lone Fir Resort near Mount St. Helens in Cougar, Washington is a casual, rustic resort offering a mix of lodging, cabins, RV sites, and tent camping.
How to Book and Stay There
Reservations: All bookings for rooms, cabins, RV, or tent sites must be made online through their website. A non-refundable 25 dollar deposit is charged at booking and applies to your total.
Payment: Credit cards only. No cash for rooms or cabins. Full balance is typically due at check-in.
Check-in and Check-out:
Rooms and Cabins: Check-in at 3:00 PM, check-out at 11:00 AM. RV and Tent: Check-in at 1:00 PM, check-out at 12:00 PM. Late check-in is possible but incurs a 25 dollar fee. No arrivals after midnight. RV and tent arrivals by 9:00 PM.
Cancellation Policy: Strict. A 25 dollar fee applies if given 10 or more days notice. Otherwise, you may lose one night rate or the full amount for no-shows or last-minute changes.
Accommodations
Rooms and Cabins: Rustic but well-equipped with beds, linens, towels, toiletries, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, heater, and free Wi-Fi. Some have full kitchens.
RV Sites: 27 full-hookup sites including water, 30-amp electric, and sewer. These are approximately 45 feet long with fire pits and picnic tables.
Tent Sites: Limited to 3 sites with picnic tables and fire pits.
Amenities: Outdoor seasonal pool, playground, gift shop, coin laundry, showers, clubhouse, and an on-site restaurant called Bigfoots Lodge.
On-Site Dining and Extras
Bigfoots Lodge serves meals with breakfast available on weekends. There is an espresso cart on weekends. They also offer special packages such as all-inclusive weekends and adventure add-ons.
Important Policies and Notes
Pets: Allowed only in RV and tent sites with a fee. No pets are allowed in rooms or cabins.
Quiet Hours: 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. This is strictly enforced.
Smoking: Outdoors only and at least 25 feet from buildings.
Wi-Fi and Utilities: Free but can be slow or unreliable due to the rural location. Power or internet outages are possible and no refunds are given for short disruptions.
Other Rules: No firearms, limited extra vehicles, and quiet time is enforced.
