We sell out every year for the past ten years, a favorite retreat for many, A week-long immersion into the heart and soul of India! Sacred sites- Hindu temples and Sufi shrines, artisanal crafts and shopping, amazing food, Buddha villages and much more. Holi is one of the biggest holiday festivals in India and represents the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. Ceremonies, art, concerts and fun everywhere and a wonderful time to be in India. We will attend a Holi celebration in and have powered color splashed on you! You can travel light and buy clothes there to wear on the trip if you would like.
We are your hosts Riz & Oriah Mirza and we are happy to welcome you to sacred India! We have been leading retreats to India for a decade, and it is one of the most ancient and transformative countries you will ever go to. Riz being a fluent Hindi-speaking Indian, feels like he has a homecoming every time he returns. Riz is a well-known psychic medium/trance channel from Malibu, CA, originally for NYC and together with myself, his wife Oriah, I am a healer and native Angelino and we have been serving the public for a decade. Nice to meet you!
Start Here: Please watch the video (above) on India first, and then if you are ready to book, please do so now (scroll to bottom) or by March 10th, 2022. We are holding spaces for 22 people, it will go fast, trust me. This will help us lock down the many nuances involved in creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience for you and your group in advance. You will be able to choose from one room with a single bed, or a shared room with two beds.
Accommodations: All accommodations are 4 and 5 star depending on location. Some cities are high in the Himalayas at a Buddhist Monastery so please be aware of the cultural differences. (You will not see the Dalai lama because you have to schedule a year in advance and he chooses whom he wants to see-we try) But, you can walk the grounds, talk to monks and buy their crafts work. We chose hotel locations that will let you feel the flavor of that area but with amenities for international travelers so you are comfortable.
How Many Cities: We will be going to 5 cities in India, traveling by plane twice within the country and by tour bus and private cars (and rickshaws). For the number of days we are going, this always works out perfect, and this always includes going to Agra to see the Taj Mahal.
Preparation: We will host a zoom meeting before the trip to answer any and all questions. The air quality is not good in India in general, so you have to wear a mask, you can try not to-but you will see how hard it is. This has never stopped us from visiting for many years and some days are better than others, so you don't have to wear it every day, especially in the mountainous regions. We don't recommend arriving days before we arrive so we may introduce the city to you in the safest and most beautiful way for our Day One location. Obviously, you can stay in India after our trip is over, for instance, you can visit Goa and other destinations.
Food: The food is incredible, and we eat only at designated tourist locations or proven locations. The food is fresh and spicy, so be prepared, after about 4 days everyone starts to feel the effects, so go slow in the beginning! We only drink out of bottles with locked lids. No eating greens, or fresh veggies that get rinsed with water, only cooked food. We will send you a list of recommended items to bring on the trip.
Water: The best tourist hotels will have filtered water for showers, etc. Cover your skin and put insect repellent, especially on the Ganges River (we will discuss). Prepare your immune system now until the trip so you are healthy and strong! (I have taken almost all my children to India with no problems, 3 out of 5 of my kids-over 18 yrs old)
Covid: Officials will ease entry restrictions for international arrivals from Feb. 14. Fully vaccinated passengers from 82 locations will no longer need to submit a negative RT-PCR test if they present a vaccine certificate. The complete list is available here. Unvaccinated arrivals must still provide a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours. All entrants must complete a self-declaration form on the Air Suvidha portal. Air carriers may not allow individuals exhibiting symptoms during pre-departure thermal screening to board flights to India. Go here for more info. As we get closer, we will have the latest updates on regulations.
Other Countries: If you are also interested in traveling to other countries with us, we are going back to Egypt Dec 2-9th, 2022, if you would like to join us please go here. These are all the rest of our retreats and you will also see a Travel Checklist.
You are responsible for your round trip airfare. We will have locations, hotel names, etc months prior as we prepare the trip and will give them to you.
Final dates will be given, this is a close estimate. It will be based on final cities and travel
time between them once selected.
The cities, dates, and the order of this itinerary is based on many factors, that cannot be changed. It includes the date Holi falls on, the overall length of the trip, flight availabilities within the country, etc.

Have you ever been called to go to India? Do you ever dream of going but are unsure how to make that happen? India is a giant place with many extreme and beautiful experiences, but for a new traveler, it is important to have a guide. Psychic Medium Riz Mirza is Indian and speaks fluent Hindi, and he and his wife, Oriah have been taking groups to India for over ten years, for Holi and Diwali, twice a year. A celebration of color in March, and a Celebration of Lights (their Christmas) in the fall.
The world is always dealing with something, isn't it? We still always travel. We are grateful the travel ban has been lifted and all of our retreats with Sacred Earth Retreats have been filling up fast as people need a break from their routines, and need to expand their senses. You only live once, and usually what stops people from traveling, especially to India, is money and safety concerns. Well, money-wise, we offer payment plans although you get better choices paying upfront. And safety-wise, Riz and Oriah are experienced travelers taking groups of 20 to various sacred ancient countries four times a year for a decade with never one single problem.
This is because they are experienced and well versed in the customs, laws, regulations, locations, and recourses of every country and they plan half a year to a year in advance for every trip. India is the Motherland, a place for rebirth, a place to have your heart opened....because that is what happens when you go to India. If you let India in, you will experience the heart-opening awakening you know will happen there, and if you fight it, you will still get your messages from the Motherland! Either way, she is there to embrace you and teach you why you are on the planet. With India being one of the oldest civilizations on the planet, you will feel it to the depths of your soul the majesty and sacredness of this ancient land and the amazing and varied people that live heartily there since the beginning.
Riz also trance channels while we are there, go to our home page for more info on trance channeling. He gives messages to everyone throughout the trip, and channels information in sacred sites. Go to the link below to see the itinerary, watch videos, read testimonials, and see galleries. Get all the information you need on travel notes, tips, covid, and pre-planning details on our site. You will be taken care of, and 100% prepared. We have a zoom call prior to the trip to cover Q & A's.
We hope you will consider this new adventure, and we are halfway filled, so this is the time to book. You will have a selection of two different types of accommodations. We look forward to meeting you, and if India is not of any interest to you at this time, we have room left for our Egypt retreat in Dec.
New & Old
It is a special city, which has been home to prominent civilizations, dynasties and rulers. It is home to unique sites that are nowhere to be found in the country. We will be shopping for Indian clothes, visiting the Red Fort, built in 1639.
We will also be visiting the Lotus Temple and having an amazing lunch in Old Delhi which will be shock to the system...welcome to India!
Holi in India is known as the Festival of Colors and it is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. This Hindu festival takes place across India as revelers throw colored powder to celebrate the triumph over good and evil. We will be going to a large public festival with music and plenty of color to throw and we advise buying a white disposable Indian kurta pajama because the dyes will stain. Cover blonde hair with a bandana!
Taj Mahal, a mausoleum complex in Uttar Pradesh in northern India, was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century, this is a must in every retreat.
It is generally accepted that Agra was both an ancient city from the times of the Mahabharata and yet nevertheless Sultan Sikandar Lodī, the Muslim ruler of the Delhi Sultanate, founded Agra in the year 1504.
We placed our visit during the week so the crowds are less. This is a 4-hour bus ride through the countryside to Agra.
Day 4 & 5
Rishikesh is a city in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand, in the Himalayan foothills beside the Ganges River. The river is considered holy, and the city is renowned as a center for studying yoga and meditation. Temples and ashrams (centers for spiritual studies) line the eastern bank around Swarg Ashram, a traffic-free, alcohol-free and vegetarian enclave upstream from Rishikesh town.
We will see the aarti at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram, and the Beatles/Maharishi ashram. People visit the Ganga aarti everyday at 06:00 pm - 07:00 pm (Daily). It is beautiful to see so many diyas (flowers) floating in the Ganges.
In the evening you can find many priests offering aarti to Ganges.
Dharamsala is a city in the north of Himachal Pradesh surrounded by picturesque views of the Himalayas. It is one of the hill stations where history, spirituality, and culture come together, giving you a retreat for both your mind and soul. The Buddist Monastery is located here. You can support the Tibetan monks by purchasing their handicrafts, the food is wholesome and in the evening we will have a sound bath. We will have the opportunity to have a nature walk thru the villages in the hillside and see the Buddhist enclaves.
Day 7 & 8
Bombay is India's most popular city, with sayings such as "the city of dreams" and "the city that never sleeps."It has earned this moniker over time not only because it provides endless opportunities for Indians across states, but also for people from other countries.
We will be visiting the ancient Elephanta caves. This is the second UNESCO World Heritage Site on our trip, the Elephanta Caves are a collection of cave temples predominantly dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. They are on Elephanta Island, or Gharapuri, in Mumbai Harbour. We will shop, enjoy the big bustling city and leave the next day!
